ASSE Backflow Prevention Assembly Testers Certification Course:
Course ID: 1909 | Level: Intermediate | Duration: 5 Days | Contact Hours: 32
This course is designed for plumbers and other related mechanical contractors. The course covers basic backflow hydraulics, cross-connection identification, degree of hazard, operation of backflow prevention assemblies, applications and basic installation requirements of backflow prevention assemblies. A hands-on workshop will allow students to practice test procedures on the reduced pressure principal assembly, double check valve assembly, and pressure vacuum breaker. ASSE test procedures will be taught in the classroom and put into practice in the Wet Lab.
ASSE Cross-Connection Control Surveying Certification Course

This course is similar to the tester certification course but does not certify students to test assemblies in the field. This class focuses on setting up and maintaining a comprehensive cross-connection control program and cover many of the same topics as the testers course, however, there is much more emphasis on cross-connection control program management.
ASSE Backflow Prevention Program Administrators Certification Course

The course is designed for water treatment plant operators and administrators who will be involved with drafting and/or implementing a comprehensive cross-connection control program, including an annual testing and tracking program. A hands-on workshop will allow students to practice test procedures on the principal assembly, valve assembly, and pressure vacuum breaker. ASSE test procedures will be taught in the classroom and put into practice in the wet lab.
ASSE Backflow Prevention Assembly Testers Re-certification Course

The course is designed for water treatment plant operators, wastewater plant operators and plumbers who are being re-certified. Topics include how to apply protection and to prevent backflow, proper installation guidelines, elements of a comprehensive cross-connection control program, etc. Each afternoon, a hands-on testing workshop will allow students to practice test procedures on the reduced pressure principal assembly and double check valve assembly. ASSE test procedures will be taught in the classroom and put into practice in the Wet Lab. A written examination will be given at the conclusion of the course.
ASSE Recertification & Repair Certification Course

The advanced course is designed for water treatment plant operators, wastewater plant operators, plumbers, and maintenance personnel, who already are certified backflow testers. We will diagnose problems with backflow prevention devices using a differential pressure gage, disassemble them, and make necessary repairs. This course has been approved by ASSE and meets ANSE Standard Series 5000.
ASSE Introduction to Backflow Prevention Assembly Repair & Maintenance Course

The course is designed for water treatment plant operators, wastewater plant operators, plumbers, and maintenance personnel. We will cover common backflow prevention devices, as well as how they are serviced and repaired. ASSE Backflow Prevention Assembly, Repair & Maintenance

The course is designed for water treatment plant operators, sewage treatment plant operators, plumbers and other maintenance personnel. This course will include an overview of spare parts stocking/ordering, tools required, cleaning methods, lubrication, and general maintenance procedures on check valves and relief valves. A hands-on informal work session will give students time to disassemble and reassemble some of the devices on their own. A quiz will be given at the conclusion of the course.
ASSE Basic Cross Connection Control Backflow Prevention 101 / Mechanics of Meters

Designed for treatment plant operators and administrators, this course covers the installation of meter and backflow connection equipment aligned with health priorities. Students will learn about basic backflow hydraulics, preventing backflow using air gaps, and backflow prevention devices. You will gain a technical understanding of both residential and industrial/commercial meters, as well as the many components and equipment associated with accurate meter reading. You will be able to examine all types of backflow prevention and related plumbing equipment, including numerous cut-aways of nearly every brand and type of backflow prevention device available today.
ASSE Introduction to Backflow Prevention Assembly Repair & Maintenance
Course ID: 6020 | Level: Basic-Intermediate | Duration: 0.5 Day | Contact Hours: 4
This course provides a working understanding of and troubleshooting for backflow prevention assemblies. We will demonstrate disassembly, repair, and reassembly of multiple models of backflow prevention devices in a hands-on “rotating workstation” environment.
